The environmental Charter was the response to a major concern: to control noise pollution and define the guidelines for sustainable development of airport activity, working in harmony with the partners concerned. The Charter sets out the commitments that all parties endeavour to meet.
As a key element of information transparency, the Charter outlines in detail the commitments made with regard to noise and environmental pollution, commitments which are divided into five major areas.
The Charter contains three main sections:
1. The Charter´s major concerns, the historical and economic data and regulations taken into account in drawing up the Charter and the working methods adopted by the parties involved.
2. All commitments and initiatives together with the timetable for their implementation.
3. Various information which may help in understanding the Charter: a glossary of technical terms and abbreviations, legislative texts for reference and a list of the members of the drafting committee.
